Code for housing application
In order to sign up in the CIS queue, you need a code, which is sent to you by Chalmers University when granted admission to studies.
Only those who receive the code from the university may register on the CIS website.
Register your information
Go to https://cis.sgsstudentbostader.se/ and choose Applying info, Application, on the menu. Enter the code you received from the university.
Register your information by filling out all the steps in the application form. If you get an error when typing the postal code, please write a zero (0).
Tick the box "Missing Swedish social security number" and tick the box for gender.
Personal user name and password
Choose a user name and password of your own. The SGS staff can not see your password, please write it down for yourself.
You need the personal codes every time when logging on to My pages, where you apply for housing.
When you get a contract, you will see the rent account under My pages.
We send all housing information to the e-mail address you have registered, even after arrival in Sweden.
Choose the length of stay
Please choose the length of stay under profile information. See the housing periods below.
Only Master's who pay tuition fees may keep the CIS flat for the maximum length of lease, 24 months.
Exchange students may usually stay in the CIS room for one year.
Students who do not pay tuition fees can choose 6 or 12 months (starting from August).
If you arrive for the spring semester, you can only choose to stay for 6 months.
Tick the right student category under the profile information. Check the information you entered and confirm by ticking the box under Approval.
Fixed housing periods
The housing periods are predetermined.
If you plan to leave earlier than the end of the contract period, you can give the SGS a written and undersigned notice three calendar months in advance.
If your studies last longer than one year, register in the SGS regular student housing queue as well.
For activating the student housing queue we need completing documents, such as a copy of your passport, admission letter and residence permit (nationals from outside the EU).

Each person should only have one housing application, where several queues can be activated.
These are the housing periods
6 months = August 15, 2018 to January 14, 2019
6 months = January 15, 2019 to July 31, 2019
12 months = August 15, 2018 to July 31, 2019
18 months = August 15, 2018 to January 14, 2020 (only for students paying tuition fees)
24 months= August 15, 2018 to July 31, 2020 (only for students paying tuition fees)
The housing period starts in mid August or mid January every year.
If you have to leave prior to the end of the fixed lease, you have the right to terminate the lease with three calendar months notice period.
When the registration is completed, a message about e-mail verification is generated. Do not forget to verify your e-mail address.
The application is blocked until the verification is done.
If you arrive in the middle of a semester
If you arrive at other times, in the middle of the semester or late in the spring, we draw up the contract manually and send it to your e-mail. Send a request to email@example.com.
